Roof Replacement on Wildbrook Canyon Ln in Katy, TX

About This Project

A one-story home on Wildbrook Canyon Lane in Katy's 77449, replaced in September 2026 with a gray architectural shingle. The roof is a simple hip-and-gable design, which made this a one-day install for the crew.

The main change beyond the shingles was ventilation. Four turtle vents were removed and decked over, and a continuous ridge vent was installed along the peak in their place, which moves more air with fewer holes in the roof. The existing solar attic fan was in good shape and was reused. The gutters were detached so new drip edge could be installed behind them, then reset.

The crew also replaced the 1x2 trim along the rake edges, caulked and painted it, so the finished roof does not sit on top of weathered wood. That is a small detail that most roofing quotes leave out and most homeowners notice later.
