Roof Replacement on Mossy Hedge Ln in Katy, TX

About This Project

A one-story home on Mossy Hedge Lane in Katy 77449, replaced in January 2025 with a charcoal architectural shingle. The roof is a long hip with a front gable, and the main change beyond the shingles was ventilation: a continuous ridge vent now runs the length of the main peak, backed by new dome vents on the rear slope.

The crew replaced the pipe jacks and the two HVAC penetrations, re-flashed the chimney on the front slope, and installed new drip edge around the perimeter. The photos show the roof from above with the new ridge vent, the rear slope with its dome vents, and the front slope with the chimney and vents.

This house sits in one of the 1990s subdivisions off Clay Road where a lot of original builder roofs have reached end of life at the same time. We have replaced several on neighboring streets, and the ventilation fix is the same on nearly all of them.
