Roof Repair on Cottage Pines Dr in Katy, TX

About This Project

A hip-roof home on Cottage Pines Drive in the 77449 part of north Katy, where we were called for a repair rather than a replacement. The shingles still had life in them, but the attic had no ridge ventilation and the caps along the hips had started to lift.

The crew cut in a continuous ridge vent along the main peak and each hip, re-capped the lines with matching charcoal caps, and resealed the exposed nail heads and pipe jacks they found on the way. The rooftop photos show the finished hip lines with the new vent sitting flush under the caps.

Repairs like this are the honest answer when a roof is sound but one system on it is failing. A full replacement would have been easy to sell; it was not what the roof needed.
