About This Project
February 2025 on a two-story in Sugar Land's 77479. The roof and gutters were replaced together after a winter storm; the gutter scope was limited to the runs that were damaged.
The roof is a hip with a front gable and a brick chimney. Old roof off, deck checked, then new flashing, new boots and vents, a charcoal laminate and capped hips.
February builds in Sugar Land are pleasant work. The crew finished the roof in a day and hung the gutters the following week once the drip edge had been checked.
Limiting the gutter scope to the damaged runs is sometimes the right call. The undamaged gutters on this house were seamless aluminum in good shape, and replacing them would have meant matching a color that is no longer made. The crew replaced the two bent runs and re-pitched the rest so water drains to the downspouts, which is what a gutter is for.
Eight photos show the house and the finished roof.
