About This Project
May 2025 on a one-story in League City's 77573. The roof was tarped after the storm, re-tarped when the first tarp failed in a second storm, and then replaced once the permit was issued.
The roof is a hip with a front gable and a rear patio cover. Full tear-off, new boots and vents, a gray laminate and capped hips. A vent cover on the right side of the house was replaced at the homeowner's request.
Two tarps on one roof is what happens when a storm season stacks events. The tarp is a stopgap; the fix is the roof, and the permit process in League City sets the pace.
The vent cover the homeowner asked about was a wall-mounted dryer vent on the right side of the house whose flapper had broken, letting birds in. It is not a roofing item, but the crew was on a ladder next to it and it took ten minutes. A roof job is a good time to fix everything else at height.
Five photos show the ridge, the patio and the slopes.
