Roof Replacement on Bending Willow Ln in Houston, TX

About This Project

June 2025, one-story brick home in Houston's 77064. The tear-off showed a roof that had been through enough hail seasons that the granules were sitting in the gutters, so the gutters came out with the shingles and both were replaced new.

The roof has a lot of penetrations for its size: several pipe jacks, two dome vents, a kitchen exhaust and a brick chimney. Each one got a new boot or collar, and the chimney was re-flashed on all four sides before the charcoal shingles went on.

Granules in the gutter are the earliest sign most homeowners can check themselves. When the colored surface of a shingle wears off, the asphalt underneath is exposed to the sun and the roof ages fast from there. If your downspouts are leaving a sandy pile at the splash block, it is a good time to have the roof looked at before the next storm season.

Pictures run from the rear ridge down to the side yard and the new gutter runs.
