About This Project
October 2024 on a two-story on Tall Timbers Ln in Pearland's 77581, the second of three roofs we have done on this street. Permit pulled, inspected and passed.
The roofline is a hip with a front gable and a brick chimney worked in. The crew tore it to the decking and installed new flashing, new boots and vents, and a driftwood laminate with capped hips.
When a street takes hail, the roofs on it are usually the same age and the same builder-grade shingle, so they fail together. Three neighbors on this block replaced within a year of each other.
This house had the tallest chimney on the street and the flashing at its base was the original 1990s aluminum, corroded through where it met the mortar. The new counter flashing is galvanized steel, cut into the mortar joint and sealed, and it is the one piece of this roof we would bet lasts longest.
