August 2026 on a two-story in Pearland's 77581. The City of Pearland requires a permit and a final inspection on every re-roof, and this one was pulled, built and passed before the file closed.

Up top it is a hip design, a front gable and a brick chimney included. Old roof off, deck checked, then new flashing, new boots and a driftwood laminate with a capped ridge.

Pearland's permit process adds a few days to a job but it also means an inspector checks the nailing pattern and the drip edge, which is a good thing for the homeowner.

The brick chimney on this house sits on the rear slope and had a cricket that was too small to shed water around it. The crew rebuilt the cricket to the modern standard, which is half the chimney's width, so leaves and water go around instead of piling up behind it.
