About This Project
December 2024 on a two-story home in Houston's 77065 near the Copperfield border. The homeowner kept the scope to the roof itself, leaving the gutters, fence and siding for later, so this was a clean tear-off and re-shingle without the extras.
The house has a steep front gable over the entry and a lower two-story section at the back, both re-done in a charcoal architectural laminate with new vents and boots.
Splitting a project into roof now and exterior later is common and it works, with one caveat: the roof edge is finished to the existing gutters, so when the gutters are eventually replaced the drip edge should be checked at the same time. We note that on the file so the next crew, whoever it is, knows what they are working with.
The photos walk from the front elevation around the garage side to the rear.
