Roof Replacement on Galesburg St. in Houston, TX

About This Project

A 28-square replacement on Galesburg Street in south Houston's 77051, installed in August 2026. The homeowner wanted a straightforward, well-built shingle roof, and that is what this is: CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles in Moire Black, with Shadow Ridge hip and ridge caps, synthetic underlayment across the field, and ice-and-water shield in the valleys and at the eaves.

The accessory list is where a roof like this is won or lost. The crew installed 25 sticks of 1.5-inch drip edge, five pieces of ridge vent, seven three-in-one pipe boots, a 3-inch HVAC jack, a new dryer vent, a split boot for the electrical mast, and new L flashing where the roof meets the wall. Before the material was ordered, one of our estimators walked the roof to count every penetration so nothing was improvised on the day.

This roof was done as a full replacement after a series of smaller repairs made it clear the old shingles were done. In our experience, once a roof needs its third or fourth patch, the money is better spent on the whole thing.
