About This Project
A January 2025 replacement on a two-story in Kingwood's 77345, a referral from a neighbor we had roofed the year before. Kingwood referrals tend to cluster on the same streets, and this one was three doors down.
The house has a tall hip roof with a rear gable over the family room and a brick chimney. The crew tore it to the deck, re-flashed the chimney and re-shingled in a charcoal laminate with new ridge cap.
Kingwood roofs live under pine trees, and pine needles pile up in valleys and behind chimneys. The cricket behind this chimney was full of them, which is why it was leaking. We rebuilt the cricket wider so it sheds better.
Photos show the chimney, the ridge and the slopes.
