About This Project
A two-story brick-and-siding home on Candleston Lane in Katy 77450, replaced in January 2025 with CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Moire Black. The house has two chimneys and a set of steep intersecting gables, so the job was more about flashing and staging than square footage.
Both chimneys were re-flashed with new step and counter flashing, the gable-to-wall intersections got new kick-out and step flashing, and the ridge was capped with matching black caps. The black shingle against the tan brick and cream siding is a sharp look that is becoming popular in the Cinco Ranch area.
This job covered the roof only; the covered patio and interior were left as they were at the owner's request. The photos show the chimney and ridge line from the street, the front corner, the steep upper gable and the side elevation.
