March 2025 on a two-story in Clear Lake, Houston's 77062. The homeowner arranged the roof directly and the crew had it torn off, dried in and shingled in a single day.

Structurally this is a hip roof carrying a front gable and a tall chimney chase. The replacement itself covered new flashing at the chase and the second-story walls, new boots and vents and a charcoal laminate.

A one-day two-story is a crew of eight starting at seven and finishing at dusk. It is how we build most roofs when the weather is right, because an open roof overnight is a risk nobody needs.

The chimney chase on this house is a tall framed box clad in siding rather than brick, and chases like it leak at the top where the cap meets the siding. The crew replaced the cap flashing and re-sealed the siding joints while the roof was open, which is not strictly a roofing item but is where the next leak would have come from.
