About This Project
A repair job in Pearland's 77581 that turned into two visits. The first, in January, fixed a leak at the hip where the garage roof meets the main house. The second, in April 2026, upgraded the drip edge along the affected eave to the 2x4 profile that Texas windstorm certification requires in this part of Brazoria County.
Pearland sits inside the coastal windstorm zone, so even a repair has to be done to the certified standard if the homeowner wants the roof to pass a later inspection. That means the heavier drip edge, six nails per shingle and sealed hips, not just a patch.
The roof itself is a mid-2000s laminate in good shape, which is why repair made more sense than replacement. We matched the existing shingle so the repaired section disappears into the slope.
