About This Project

March 2024 on a one-story in Spring Branch, Houston's 77043. The tear-off found the original plank decking had separated and rotted in places, and the roof was fully re-decked with new plywood before the new roof went on.

The photos show why: gaps between boards wide enough to see the attic insulation, rot around the pipe penetrations and nails with nothing to hold. New decking was the only safe answer.

The new roof is a charcoal laminate over the new deck with ridge vent along the main run, new boots and vents.

Eight photos show the finished roof and the decking during tear-off.
