About This Project
A July 2026 replacement on a two-story brick home in Houston's 77040 with a clear materials list: Max Def Weathered Wood laminate, ten pieces of ridge vent, seven lead bullet boots, 1.5-inch drip edge, two 3-inch and two 4-inch HVAC flashings and two dome vents.
Seventy-four feet of gutter was replaced along the front with two two-story downspouts and one single-story drop. The old satellite dish was taken down on the homeowner's request rather than remounted.
Max Def is CertainTeed's higher-contrast version of the Landmark color line, with more variation between the light and dark tabs. On a two-story brick house it reads as a richer, more dimensional roof from the street, which is why it is the version we recommend when the roof is a large part of the front elevation.
