Roof Replacement on Cedar Sage Dr in Houston, TX

About This Project

This Copperfield home in Houston's 77095 got its new roof in June 2025. It is a one-story with a tall hip-and-gable roof and a boxed chimney chase, the kind of plan that looks simple from the street and turns out to have six separate ridges once you are up top.

The crew pulled the old roof to the deck, replaced the chase flashing, and ran ridge vent along the main spine for attic airflow. The shingle is a weathered-gray laminate.

Copperfield roofs of this vintage were mostly built with three-tab shingles and no ridge ventilation, so the attics run hot and the first-generation roofs tend to fail at the ridges and in the valleys. Replacing them with a laminate and adding ridge vent on the main run is the standard upgrade, and it is what we did here.

The gallery includes the finished roof from the chase, the street-side ridges and the rear slopes over the lawn.
