About This Project
Our third roof on Dearborn St in Spring Branch, Houston's 77055, finished in August 2025. The first two were referrals from each other; this one was a neighbor who had seen the trucks twice and walked over.
It is a low-pitch one-story with a long single ridge and a brick chimney on the front slope. The chimney got new step and counter flashing, the ridge was capped end to end with matching laminate, and the shingle is a driftwood blend that reads lighter than the old roof.
Spring Branch has a lot of these low-pitch ranch roofs, and the thing to watch on them is the chimney. A short, wide brick chimney on a shallow slope collects water on its uphill side, so the cricket and the step flashing behind it do most of the work. We rebuild that detail on every Dearborn roof rather than reusing the old metal.
