About This Project

A two-story stone-and-brick home on Cupshire Drive in Cypress, replaced in August 2024 with a gray-brown architectural shingle. The house has a tall front gable over the entry, a steep hip at the back and a pergola over the patio, and the photos are the walk-around after cleanup.

The gable-to-wall intersections were re-flashed with new step and kick-out flashing against the stone, which is where this style of house leaks first. The pipe jacks and the exhaust vents on the rear slope were replaced, and the ridge was capped along every peak. Some interior repair followed once the roof was dry.

Cypress has a lot of these stone-front two-stories from the mid-2000s, and the first roof on them is reaching the end of its life about now.
